Organic neroli

An eagerly awaited annual harvest

Since Terra Provence began, we have maintained a special relationship with our Moroccan partners. Each spring marks the return of a production cycle we follow particularly closely: that of the organic neroli hydrolat. Year after year, we reserve a significant portion of our long-term producer's yield to ensure a reliable supply of this emblematic hydrolat, which is highly valued for its quality and aromatic profile.

Neroli in bloom

A delicate and precious flower

Neroli hydrolat is obtained by steam distilling the fresh flowers of the Seville orange tree, also known as bitter orange. The flowers are harvested only once a year and are highly dependent on spring weather conditions. They are particularly sensitive to adverse weather, which can influence yields and render each production unique.

One flower, two exceptional products

You can obtain both organic neroli hydrolat and organic neroli essential oil from bitter orange blossom distillation. The latter is known for its rarity: it takes about 1,000 kg of fresh flowers to capture just 1 kg of essential oil. This exceptionally low yield is one of the reasons why neroli is among the most sought-after aromatic raw materials.

On-the-ground supply chain monitoring

We regularly track our neroli supply chain in Morocco, alongside other emblematic productions like rose and cedar. Our close relationships with producers allow us to better understand harvesting realities, climatic constraints and the expertise behind the quality of our selected raw materials.
